Williamson River, Oregon

The Williamson is the primary tributary of Upper Klamath Lake. It runs into Upper Klamath Lake on the north shore about 40 miles from Klamath falls. It hosts some of the largest Rainbow and Brown Trout in the Continental United States. These fish average 22" with many fish over 25", and every year there are several fish over 30" landed. It is primarily spring fed so even in the dead of summer the water is clear and cold. The upper reaches maintain "spring creek" characteristics with CRYSTAL clear cold slow moving water. The lower reaches of the river change drastically from deep lava rock ledges to slow lake like flats. It is not an easy river to fish and will test even expert fisherman.
